It's "worth the trip just to see" this "quirky" Spanish Mission–style inn, a National Historic Landmark that takes up an entire Downtown city block and boasts "unique" architecture (e.g. "real Tiffany windows in the on-site chapel") and an ambiance fit for a "romantic" rendezvous; though the majority focuses on the "grandeur" of this "classic" property that's "like staying on the Frankenstein movie set – and enjoying it", some say the room quality "varies greatly" and the "area is only fair."

Its romantic, unique, close to home, luxurious, and old world quality.

We try to go every year. Its beautiful. The Christmas festival of lights is extremely beautiful. The restaurants are excellent. The room is romantic. We like being able to have champagne, in room movies, room service, the option of a couples massage. Excellent place to go - best in the area! Historic. Been visited by several presidents etc. over the years. Never have taken the historic tour yet - maybe next time. ...read more

Beautiful hotel.

The grounds and the hotel are beautiful and very romantic. Stayed there for my 20th wedding anniversary and was not disappointed. This is the crown jewel of Riverside.

Amazing architecture. Absolutely beautiful and unique.
Only that our toilet in our room was not working - other than that, everything was great!

My husband and I were Completely blown away by this gorgeous hotel. What a gem! We own a construction business, and to see such unique craftsmanship was truly a delight. In addition, we are history buffs, so this hotel completely fit the bill for us. The food at the Mexican restaurant was so-so, but great margaritas! The Presidential Lounge was nice, again great drinks. Next time will try the Steakhouse. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hotel. Beautiful! ...read more

The level of service I receive at this hotel is the best I receive anywhere, which is why it's always a pleasure to stay here.
We had trouble with internet cable and had to call the front desk a couple of times to get someone to come look at it. (cable had to be replaced)

It is always a pleasure to stay at the Mission Inn hotel. The hotel is a historic landmark. I love the history, the comfort and especially the excellent customer service and stay here whenever I'm in Riverside. ...read more

The room was large and comfortable, staff was pleasant and hotel was beautiful and unique.
The hot tub had some chemical that irritated our throats.

The Mission Inn is a charming and unique old hotel that has modern upgrades that make it very comfortable and interesting. My 14-year-old daughter just loved exploring the public areas, with beautiful gardens, interesting architecture and a beautiful big pool. To top it off, the staff was very helpful and friendly. ...read more
